Wake Me For Summer

24 February 2011

Grizzly – Β© Rik Lee

Okay, so this isn’t really relevant to me at the moment seeing it’s summer down here in Australia, but anyways, i’ll just post it again when winter rolls around. Until then, it goes out to all my friends and family on the other side of the world who are dealing with a mighty cold winter. Times like this, the bears got it right, hibernation seems like a good idea.

I agree!! He definitely has it right πŸ™‚

  2. 24 February 2011 11:24 pm

    Boy do they ever…

I’d rather bury myself in my office, close all the curtains, write blog posts about my crazy life post-divorce, sleep for 12 hours a day and drink copious amounts of Diet Coke for the next 3 months.

Then, when the sun shines again, all will be new and better.

    I think I’d better keep dreaming! πŸ™‚

Thank you for thinking of us over here, especially today. So very, very cold.

Hello from Canada…it’s cold here. The Bears got it “totally” right. Waiting for spring…
    BTW – great illustration!

  10. 25 February 2011 12:13 am

Oh, definitely. I feel like that bear. How is that February is the shortest month of the year, but feels the LONGEST (here in Canada, anyway). I hate winter!

I have been saying the same thing since the beginning of January…that is when I began reaching my limit with the snow and such (since we’ve had the stuff since November.) Just a few more months of it in NoDak. I think I might have to print this off and put it on my bedroom door.

And I do hope you’re enjoying your sunshine. Thanks for thinking of us.

  28. 25 February 2011 7:06 am

Very nice, though, like you, I can’t relate either. St. Petersburg Florida apparently doesn’t have “winter.” Only “slightly less hot.”

  29. 25 February 2011 7:27 am

In Maryland, it’s the time of year the weather gets a little bi-polar. 70 Degrees on a Friday and then back to snow before midweek hits.

We have similar weather in Melbourne actually. Hot, cold, hot, wet, cold, hot… and usually all in the same day.

  31. 25 February 2011 8:02 am

I’m in Melbourne – I’d still like to hibernate. We had no “summer” here!

Hibernation is definitely on my list of things to do for next winter! I am so desperate for warmth!!!

  36. 25 February 2011 11:40 am

I could not hibernate all winter in New York, so I migrated south to Florida where hibernation is not needed lol

    Congrats on the FP!
